  • Skin cancer scare!!

About a month ago my friend Hope and I went to the beach! It was so nice and relaxing we ended up staying for like 5 hours! She wore sun block...and I didn't. Needless to say, I got a really bad sun burn...my first one this year! It hurt so bad...I couldn't sleep for 2 nights!

2 days after that incident, some dark spots appeared on my right hand...at first I thought they were bruises, but they didn't hurt...it just looked like my normal skin except that it was darker in color.  I thought they would disappear on its on...but after 2 weeks they were still there. I showed it to a few ppl and some said it could be skin cancer...some said its weird...and I was secretly scared it was skin cancer but wouldn't admit it!!

Its been a month now and the spots are still there! It doesn't hurt, it hasn't gotten bigger, smaller....so then I finally decided to go see a Dermatologist!

It sucked...I paid $50 copay and I got to see the doctor for literally 2minutes. the funny thing was, she barely looked at it...she seemed more interested on my birthmark on my arm! (that was the first thing she looked at)

The Doc just said that it looks like its hyperpigmentation...which in human talk means that the skin is just discolored...she went on and said mumbo jumbo about citrus and sun exposure...but I'm sure I didn't spill any juices on me that week!!! lol....so she gave me a sample cream to bleach it and a prescription, but they told me its expensive and it so happens that my insurance doesn't cover it!!

Overall...no skin cancer...and I came straight home...put on sun block and swam in the pool and tanned!!!!

  • Its that time of year....Tanning!!!!!

I have to get dark, so I can go up north and make everyone jealous!! lol

And I've been feeling extremely bad this year, cause all I ever hear about is skin cancer.....and it makes me feel really bad to be tanning and getting my skin all messed up....but I'm so obsessed about it, it drives me nuts!

But I did by new sun block, so it makes me feel a little bit better!

    Happy Tanning....or not!

  • Flattered & Creeped Out!

Ladies, how do you guys feel about getting hit on?!

For me, the experience is always flattering....but then I find it very creepy...b/c I always get the weird dudes!!

Today, Yer and I went grocery shopping and as we strolled around the store throwing random things into our cart; we went to the register. After we piled our food stuff on the conveyor, we waited b/c the lady had problems w/her debit card machine....a guy (hispanic, middle age, scubby looking) comes up behind me to pile his things on the conveyor...I saw him from my peripherals, but decided to ignore him. Before I know it, he "accidently" brushed up against me and was like, "sorry!"

    So, I'm like, "Its ok."

So, then he expertly begins small talk w/me and Yer...and at first just trivial stuff...yer was wearing a jacket even though it was like 70 degrees...so he's joking w/her about the weather and stuff.....and she was rude to him! So, then we stop talking for a bit....(the register is still having problems)...and then he starts asking me if I go to USF and i'm like no....and then the compliments fly left to right as he starts to tell me that I look like I'm a college student and that I must have my masters degree or something (this is where I do my little girly laugh)....and I'm like no, I'm just working....so then he sticks his hand out and introduces himself, "I'm RJ"...."Hi, I'm Xay'....he asks if I work nearby and I tell him no, and then he asks if I come her often and I tell him every now and then.....(register is still broke) so then he's telling me about his work and what he does (welding)...and for some reason he starts telling me about how I should go work where he works?!! And he's asking me what i do and then he was almost trying to get me to go work w/him!!!????

It was getting weird...so I'm like trying to turn my back to him and not ask him any questions....I was just trying to be polite and answer his questions.....I thought he would get the hint...finally our stuff is being scanned! (Thank Goodness!!!) And after I paid...I thought to myself, should I say bye to him?!!....after I got my change back, RJ goes to me..."See you next week!" All I could do was smile and tried to get out as fast as I can w/out seeming too run away from him!!

I'm definatley not going there again on Sunday evenings...he had told me that he shops there on Sundays!!!

Honestly, I hate being approached by guys because I'm always caught off guard.....and although I'm flattered and all....sorry, but its just creepy!! LOL

I know you Ladies have got your many experiences as well!! Do share them!!!

  •         Asian Style Pasta w/ Breaded Chicken and fresh Basil

The one thing that I absolutely love about cooking is that all of my ideas come to me while I cook! When I'm cooking I can taste and see what ingredient to put into my food. The idea of this particular dish I made tonight changed as I started cooking. With the trusty assistance of my little sister Mytru (she's the best little sister in the world, such a good girl)....we created this. Originally I was just going to make a simple pasta dish with spaghetti sauce and chicken....but then I asked Mytru : "sauce or no sauce," which she replied, "NO SAUCE" .....and the gears kicked in, and I created a sauce so unexpected, which included: soy sauce, duck sauce, lemon juice, and EVOO! And then with a touch of red pepper flakes, Parmesan cheese, fresh basil leaves and diced tomatoes. The aroma was beautiful and the taste was Excellent! Try to make it yourself!

    Ingredients

    Small shaped pasta
    3 cloves garlic minced
    2 medium sweet onions diced
    small tomato diced
frozen breaded chicken (thawed and sliced)
    EVOO (extra virgin olive oil)
    duck sauce
    soy sauce
fresh squeezed lemon juice (half lemon)
    red pepper flakes
    fresh basil leaves chopped
    Parmesan cheese
    salt to taste

    1. Add some EVOO to a sauce pan and saute garlic and onions until almost brown. Add some salt to taste.
    2. Add in the already thawed and chopped chicken. squeeze in a little lemon juice.
    3. When pasta is finish cooking, drain and add to the sauce pan, salt to taste. Add more EVOO if needed.
    4. Squeeze the rest of lemon juice to pasta. Add some soy sauce and duck sauce.
    5. Add the diced tomatoes and fresh basil leaves. Add pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese.
    6. Stir until everything is mixed well, but do not overcook. Make sure tomatoes are not soggy and the basil is still a bright green color.
    7. Serve and Enjoy!
